THE F21 HALF MARATHON

Foskor proudly presents the 27th annual F21 Half Marathon to running enthusiasts in the Ba- Phalaborwa communities and participants nationally to the upcoming 21.1kms race was held on the 30th of July 2022, 13:30 at the Foskor Community Centre, Namakgale (Phalaborwa) into two of the local villages.

The event featured a 7 km relay race whose participants included employees and contractors, the F5 (5km) race which was launched in 2016 for primary school children from the ages of 6 to 15 years, F10 (10km) development race which caters for learners above the age of 15 years as well as adults who wanted to walk. The F10 development race also hosted the Limpopo Provincial 10km Championships.

The total prize money for the race was R462 000.00 with a potential R50 000 bonus for breaking the record. This is a great incentive to tempt and cheer athletes, to put up a first-class performance and seek to break the records which are standing at 1:01:55 by Ezael Thlobo in 1997 and Elana Meyer 01:12:19 in 1999. The F21 Half Marathon is co-hosted by Phalaborwa Road Runners and Foskor Athletics clubs, the 2022 race witnessed the following results, male winner: Dagmachew Mara with a time of 01:05 and female winner was Glenrose Xaba with a time of 01:13:55.
